Tonight, October 22nd, 2012, Henry Krieger, composer of Dreamgirls and the cult-classic Side Show, will take part in Kaufman Center's Broadway Close Up series at Merkin Concert Hall.

Krieger will share anecdotes and stories about working with director Michael Bennett and writing material for iconic performers like Jennifer Holiday and Alice Ripley.

Music Director Andy Einhorn will lead a star-studded cast of performers on such songs as "And I Am Telling You," "I Would Never Leave You" and "I Am Changing".

Plus, you'll get a look at Krieger's new show, being written especially for one of Broadway's legendary leading ladies. With Sean Hartley, host.

Featuring Aaron Lazar (Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, The Light in the Piazza), Elisabeth Withers-Mendes (The Color Purple, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof), Mary Testa (Tony nominee for On the Town and 42nd Street), Curt Hansen (Next to Normal, Hairspray), Brandon Victor Dixon (Tony nominee for The Color Purple, The Scottsboro Boys), Betsy Wolfe (The Mystery of Edwin Drood), Erin Davie (Grey Gardens).
