Construction, a new play by Victor Hawks that traces the private lives of three construction workers, will run from September 19th through October 2th at Theatre 5, located on the 5th floor of 311 West 43rd Street.

"Construction chronicles the funny, perverse, yet heartwarming experiences of Vin, Bobby and Ray, three single blue-collar construction workers who struggle with their identities both at the work site and behind closed doors.  Through lunch hour bragging sessions, secret trips to the piano bar, and embarrassing bedroom behavior, these men learn how to manage machismo as Construction examines a true phenomenon:  the inner workings of the working man," state the show's press notes.

Hawks stated, "Men, for some reason, think they are expected to possess a certain amount of swagger.  Construction shows how men create a front to hide their weaknesses and insecurities, only to later find and expose their true selves." Construction marks Hawks' playwriting debut.

Staged by Bill Buell (Actor: Urinetown, 42nd Street) in his NYC directing debut, the ensemble cast features Bridget Berger (NYSF's Two Gentleman of Verona), Ashley Bliss, Lindsay Campbell, Rick Gifford, Karron Graves (Film: The Crucible), Victor Hawks (Urinetown, Producers Nat'l Tour), Brian Kennedy, and Daniel Stewart Sherman (Henry IV, The Full Monty, Upcoming: A Touch of The Poet at Roundabout Theatre Company).
