According to The Hollywood Reporter, HBO has officially put a BORED TO DEATH feature film into development, based upon its short-lived series.

Rumors of a potential revival, or at least a made-for-TV movie on HBO have circulated since the show was cancelled after three seasons in 2011.

The show was created by author Jonathan Ames, and starred Jason Schwartzman as a fictional version of Ames-a writer based in Brooklyn, New York City, who moonlights as an unlicensed private detective. The cast also includes Ted Danson as George, and Zach Galifianakis as Ray, both friends of Jonathan. The script that the network has put into place would continue the adventures of all three men, according to the site.

Ames is set to executive produce the film with Sarah Condon and Stephanie Davis.
