HAIR Cast Day 4 Announced: Burkhardt, Case, Kober, Nichols & Sheik Returning

Over consecutive days this week, the 26-member Broadway cast of HAIR: The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical, will be announced by Oskar Eustis, Artistic Director of The Public Theater.

The next HAIR cast members to be confirmed are Steel Burkhardt (Electric Blues Quartet, Tribe), Allison Case (Crissy), Andrew Kober (Margaret Mead, Dad, Tribe), Darius Nichols (Hud) and Kacie Sheik (Jeanie, Tribe), all of whom are reprising their roles from Central Park last summer.

In a statement, director Diane Paulus said, "What I love about HAIR is that the show encourages the expression of every performer's individuality. There is a sense of freedom and openness in how the cast performs. As a result, they really bear their souls in this show -- so you get this chance to see inside each performer. You can't help but fall in love with every single one of them."

As previously announced, the cast also includes Gavin Creel (Claude), Lauren Elder (Tribe), Allison Guinn (Tribe), Anthony Hollock (Tribe), John Moauro (Tribe), Ato Blankson-Wood (Tribe), Brandon Pearson (Tribe), Paris Remillard (Tribe), Maya Sharpe (Tribe), Theo Stockman (Hubert, Tribe), Tommar Wilson (Tribe), Jackie Burns (Black Boys Trio, Tribe), Kaitlin Kiyan (Black Boys Trio, Tribe), Nicole Lewis (White Boys Trio, Tribe), Megan Reinking (Black Boys Trio, Tribe) and Saycon Sengbloh (Abraham Lincoln, White Boys Trio, Tribe). The final casting announcement will be made tomorrow (Friday).

HAIR will begin preview performances on Friday, March 6, with Opening Night set for Tuesday, March 31, at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre (302 West 45th Street, New York City). Jeffrey Richards and Jerry Frankel, the producing team that helped bring the Tony Award-winning musical Spring Awakening to Broadway, have joined forces with The Public Theater (Artistic Director Oskar Eustis; Executive Director Andrew D. Hamingson) - as co-lead producers - to present the upcoming Broadway production.

The production will reunite most of the creative team of last summer's staging at the Delacorte Theater in Central Park: director Diane Paulus, set designer Scott Pask, costume designer Michael McDonald, sound designer Acme Sound Partners and choreographer Karole Armitage. Kevin Adams has been signed to design the lighting for the Broadway production.

Recently cited on more than 25 10-BEST-OF-THE-YEAR THEATER lists, including The New York Times, New York Magazine, Newsday, Time Out New York, and TIME Magazine, HAIR features a book and lyrics by Gerome Ragni and James Rado, and music by Galt MacDermot.

Andrew Kober (Margaret Mead, Dad, Tribe)

Andrew is making his Broadway debut reprising his role from last summer's Shakespeare in the Park production of Hair.
