The hit Broadway musical Grey Gardens will be the subject of a feature on Court TV's popular weekly celebrity news magazine Hollywood Heat, premiering this Thursday, May 10. The segment will feature interviews with the musical's leading lady, Tony Award winner Christine Ebersole, and Albert Maysles, the filmmaker of the original documentary upon which the musical is based.
The new episode will debut Thursday, May 10 at 11:30 PM and rebroadcast Friday, May 11 at 6PM and Saturday, May 12 at 11PM. Court TV is broadcast nation-wide. In New York and the Tri-State area it's broadcast on Time Warner Cable Channel 23. For other cities across the country, please check local listings. According to Hollywood Heat production notes on the episode: "Get to know Christine Ebersole, the actress now starring on Broadway as the eccentric cousin of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis. Plus, meet filmmaker Albert Maysles, who directed the cult classic on which the musical is based." The show opened at the Walter Kerr Theatre on November 2nd.
The musical features a book by Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winner Doug Wright (I Am My Own Wife, the play and film Quills), music by Scott Frankel (musical director for Broadway's Falsettos, Putting It Together) and lyrics by Michael Korie (Harvey Milk, Zhivago). Directed by Tony Award nominee and Obie winner Michael Greif (Rent), the production has musical staging by Tony Award nominee Jeff Calhoun (Big River, Grease!).
