In the age of antiquity the Greek race has been considered one of the great precursors of classical art and literature. The Greeks or Hellenes have always been considered a gifted and passionate race that has produced some of the greatest literary works such as the Iliad and the Odyssey, a proud tradition that author Themis Tsaoussis follows in his new book "Greek Honeysuckle and Magnolias."

This artistic reminiscence of Tsaoussis' youth spent in the majestic cities of Athens and Thessaloniki captures the vibrant and optimistic essence of youth. It is a touching yet whimsical memoir that shows his experiences growing up in the shadow of the Second World War and the occupation Greece. It also shows readers his life after the war and how he was granted a scholarship in the U.S. This book though is predominantly a love story that shows Tsaoussis'many loves before he finally found the love of his life and settled down. This book is a remarkable compilation of vignettes and pictures that shows readers the many events in the author's life.

"Greek Honeysuckle and Magnolias" represents the author's youth and innocence and the pictures are all very dear to his heart. The book is a beautiful portrayal of humanity at its best and worst.
