Gotham Stage Company's third installment of their new play series will be co-presented for the first time by Slant Theatre Project. Launched in 2011, the SPRINGBoard reading series exists to nurture new plays and to provide opportunities to both early and mid-career theatre artists. Past featured playwrights have included Carrie Barrett, Randall David Cook, and Ethan Lipton.

The series will begin with Emily Bohannon's The Fiancé. Directed by Adam Knight, The Fiancé centers on Bea and her decision to reenter the dating pool. Little did she know there's so many options out there for an 85- year old woman. When Bea gets engaged to a man in her retirement community, it's cause for celebration - and tensions - with her daughter and granddaughter, who have their own fears about marriage, love, and being alone. Reading will take place on Wednesday, May 29th at 7:00 PM at The Players Club in Gramercy Park.

Next up is Lucas Hnath's Hillary and Clinton. Directed by Victor Maog, Hillary and Clinton takes place in an alternate universe light years away from our own on a planet called Earth. On this earth is a woman named Hillary who's campaigning to become the president. With her poll numbers down and in need of additional financing, she calls her husband for help. You may think you know where this story is going, but you don't. Reading will take place on Tuesday, June 4th at 7:00 PM, also at The Players Club.

The final play in the series will be The Cloud, a new work by Matt Moses. Directed by Wes Grantom, The Cloud is a mistaken-identity comedy about lovers who exchange passwords and impersonate each other online. It explores changing notions of privacy and intimacy in the age of social media, conjuring up a theatrical space in which all the www is a stage. Reading will take place on Monday, June 17th at the D-Lounge below the Daryl Roth Theatre in Union Square at 7:00 PM.

According to Gotham's Producing Artistic Director Michael Barra, "We've known Wes Grantom and Slant for years and love their work. Gotham could not be more pleased to be teaming up with Slant on this series." Slant founding member Wes Grantom adds, "As Co-Artistic Director of Slant and a Gotham member, it's thrilling to have these two worlds collide. The artistic alchemy at work with this new partnership brings together a really exciting group of artists and brings me personally a great deal of joy."
