The company's mission is to provide the highest quality productions of classical dramatic material with the flavor of contemporary immediacy for people where they are, free of charge. The unique aesthetic that he created for the company's work is the subject of his book, Gorilla Theatre (Routledge 2003). The company has produced 70+ productions in its 18 years, most directed by Mr. Sanderson. As a developmental dramaturg, Mr. Sanderson's work has brought him into collaboration with playwrights such as John Guare, Sarah Treem, Robert Steven Ackerman, Matt Freeman, Leah Ryan & many others. Mr. Sanderson is the Resident Theatrical Director for Houston's Opera in the Heights 2009 - 2010 Season. He will be on the faculty of TITAN International Theater School in Oslo, Norway for Spring Semester of 2009-2010.

"Christopher Carter Sanderson brings a unique, experienced and firsthand perspective, wrapped in a sweeping, romanticized philosophy and what is clearly a genuine love for theatre." - Mark Valdez, THEATRE Magazine

"The complicity between actors & audience is as genial & unforced as theater allows." - Ben Brantley, New York Times
