Gorilla Tango's Skokie Theatre has announced its newest offering for youth: the FILM INCUBATOR PROGRAM (FIP). The FIP is a 6-week workshop where kids in tandem with professional filmmakers create a short film from scratch. The kids work on all aspects of the production (writing, directing, acting, crew, etc.) and at the end of the term the movies are premiered at the Skokie Theatre - a real movie theatre! - as a free event for family and friends. All participants get a copy of their movie on DVD to take with them. Class size is limited.

The FILM INCUBATOR PROGRAM takes place at Gorilla Tango's Skokie Theatre (7924 Lincoln Ave. Skokie, IL 60077) and is for ages 7-13. Cost is $380 per six-week session. Sessions begin January 24th, January 26th, March 14th, and March 16th; each session runs once/week for six weeks. Class size is limited; register in advance online at www.gorillatango.com - click on Classes.

MORE INFO ABOUT THE FILM INCUBATOR PROGRAM:
Created by Gorilla Tango CEO, Dan Abbate, the FIP is unique in that kids actually create and produce all aspects of a short film. Says Abbate, "When kids are working in the program, they are working not only as actors, but writers and directors and other positions in the crew. This way they really get the full picture - pun intended - of what it means to create a film from start to finish."

The adult professionals who work with Gorilla Tango Motion Pictures on feature length projects (next major release will be first-person indie horror film, "You Are Not Alone" set for Summer 2013 release) are the same individuals teaching, guiding and working with the kids on short films in the Film Incubator Program. Continues Abbate, "This way, the kids are developing direct connections to the industry that they are interested in and trying to learn about."
