Lightwire Theater and Corbian Visual Arts bring "DiNO-Light" to the Symphony Space stage, using electroluminescent wires to create stunning three-dimensional costumes, puppets and sets. Unique and visually dazzling, "DiNO-Light" has been praised for its cutting edge blend of puppetry, technology, and dance, and has dazzled audiences all over the world.

"DiNO-Light" is a glow-in-the-dark original story. After a scientist fashions a prehistoric world in his lab, he creates a dinosaur filled with compassion and wonder.The young dinosaur must learn to navigate this strange new world, and trust his heart to find his way. The show is appropriate for children ages 2 and up.

A Showcase of Percussive Dance Featuring 7 Companies

Gotham Arts Exchange and Symphony Space present this afternoon of the best in percussive dance by seven celebrated companies. From soulful flamenco to lively Irish step dance to innovative body percussion and exhilarating tap dance, this collection of companies offers something for everyone who loves the power and precision of percussive dance.

Participating companies include: Darrah Carr Dance; Ensemble Español Spanish Dance Theater; Germaine Salsberg's Les Femmes; Mary Seidman and Dancers; Ryan Casey; Nicholas Young SoundMovement Dance Co., and The Bang Group.

Prepare to be amazed by their virtuosic displays of lightning-fast footwork, intoxicating rhythms, and high-energy musical accompaniment. Expect a rollicking good time as the audience is treated to a sensory feast for sight and sound. All ages.

There's much more to see and hear in January. Please stay tuned for all of this season's eclectic and exciting performances for families at Symphony Space. On January 4th, it's the NYC debut of a multimedia musical theatre event for children, Planet Hopping, with story and score by indie band Lunch Money and puppeteers Belle et Bête (view the trailer HERE). Other interactive January shows include top kindie rock bands Recess Monkey (January 18) and Ratboy Jr. (January 25).
