The State Theatre opens up the 2014 schedule in a big way as Broadway Comes to the State with a Tribute to George Gershwin on Saturday, January 11th.

Show time is 8 PM. Tickets are $30 and $15 for students and can be purchased by visiting the State Theatre Box Office, 453 Northampton Street, Easton, by calling 1-800-999-STATE, 610-252-3132 or online at www.statetheatre.org. Sponsored by Luther Crest and WAEB AM 790.

Hailed by the New York Times as one of "Broadway's electric conductors," Todd Ellison is the former Music Director of the "Radio City Christmas Spectacular" and the current Music Director and Conductor of the new Broadway production of "Annie." Playing the piano, while accompanied by four vocalists, Ellison pays tribute to the one and only George Gershwin.

Joining Ellison on stage will be Gavin Lodge (Annie, Spamalot) , KLea Blackhurst (Hello Dolly, The Nutty Professor) , Ross Lekites (Radio City Christmas Spectacular, West Side Story) and Nikki Daniels (The Gershwin's Porgy and Bess, Les Miserables) with performances that include popular gems such as "I Got Rhythm," "Swanee," "Embraceable You," "They Can't Take That Away From Me," "S' wonderful" and so many more favorites.

Ellison's Broadway credits include Tony Award-winning shows such as Monty Python's Spamalot, La Cage aux Folles and 42nd Street. He has conducted over 20 albums including Grammy Award-winning cast recordings of his productions. Ellison has accompanied such stars as Meryl Streep, Barry Manilow, Tim Curry, Bea Arthur and Kelsey Grammar.

The $15 student ticket is valid for patrons 18 and under or with a valid student ID.
