GWAR Frontman David M. Brockie (aka 'Oderus Urungus'), Dies at 50

According to The Hollywood Reporter, GWAR frontman Dave Brockie, better known as 'Oderus Urungus', has died at age 50. Earlier reports have been confirmed by Richmond, CA police that the singer was found dead at his . home on Sunday evening, March 23rd.

A spokesperson for the Richmond police spokesperson told CBS 6 that a report of a deceased individual was filed at 6:53 p.m. ET. "When officers arrived, they found David M. Brockie, 50, deceased inside the home," the statement reads. "Detectives do not suspect foul play at this time and the Medical Examiner's Office will determine cause of death."

It is expected that the band will issue an official statement later today.

Brockie founded GWAR in 1984 and was the last original member of the group, whose band members take on horror-related alien-like characters such as Beefcake the Mighty and Balsac the Jaws of Death.

During their live performances, they often act out satirical scenes of blood-and-gore, often involving political or pop culture figures. Calling themselves, "Scumdogs of the Universe" the band have released twelve studio albums, including Battle Maximus which was releassed in 2013.
