GLEE Update: Lea Michele's 'Rachel' to Return to McKinley to Relaunch New Directions

As BWW has previously reported, the sixth and final season of the FOX musical dramedy Glee will shift its focus back to Lima and the gang at McKinley High. What had not yet been determined was why Big Apple denizen Rachel Berry would leave her Broadway dreams behind and head back to where it all began.

Today, TV Line's Michael Ausiello shares that Michele's character will return to her alma mater to relaunch the school's New Directions Glee choir. In addition, viewers will learn the outcome of a TV pilot she was developing at the end of last season. According to the report, the storyline may include a look at the final TV gig and the possibility that its failure was the reason Rachel comes back to McKinley.

Stay tuned! The final season of Glee returns to the FOX line up in 2015 with a shortened 13-episode season.
