GET DOWN WITH DAWNETTE Set for Bay Street Theater, 3/28

Bay Street Theater & Sag Harbor Center for the Arts has announced GET DOWN WITH DAWNETTE: A CLASSIC VARIETY SHOW, Saturday March 28 at 8 pm. Join Dawnette, as she recreates a fast-paced old fashioned TV Variety show, Live! For those who fondly remember shows like Laugh-In, The Carol Burnett Show, and Donnie & Marie this night will take you back. GET DOWN WITH DAWNETTE: A CLASSIC VARIETY SHOW will feature Dawnette Darden who has performed on the East End for nearly ten years with her band NEW DAWN and more recently with the HOODOO LOUNGERS. A powerhouse performer who has often been compared to Tina Turner, the evening will be hosted by Dawnette who will sing with her favorite two bands, as well as with special guests INDA EATON, MAMA LEE & ROSE, MARVIN JOSHUA, the comedy of JULIA MINERVA, and DANNY XIMO'S RAFFA Show...who knows what celebrity might show up on the Bay Street Stage!

NEW DAWN, formally known as Signify, is a band made up of New York's most innovated musicians. Dawnette Darden, lead singer of New Dawn picked all the members of the band by hand and heart. After selecting these fine musicians, they went on to create a "funkenstein" musical venture. These masterful musicians have collaborated to create the best new sound out of the New York area. They bring unbelievable magic and an electrifying performance to all stages.

The HOODOO LOUNGERS are a nine-piece East Coast based band performing music inspired by the rhythms, sounds, history and spirit of New Orleans. The band's sound encompasses traditional New Orleans Jazz, Brass Band, classic R&B and funk - a blend of original music and re-arranged New Orleans classics. The HooDoo's perform a high energy and highly entertaining show that will please young and old alike. Since it's formation in 2008, the HooDoo's have performed at numerous East Coast music festivals and concerts as well as performing at top music venues such as the Paramount Theater (Huntington), The Stephen Talkhouse (The Hamptons) and B.B. Kings Blues Club (NYC).
