Full Casting & Creative Team Announced for LEGALLY BLONDE at The LEXington Theatre Company

The LEXington Theatre Company presents its third summer production, combining "Today's Broadway Stars and Tomorrow's Broadway Hopefuls." Lexington's own Laura Bell Bundy (Tony-Nominee for Legally Blonde), will be on hand to co-direct the show (schedule permitting), alongside The LEX Artistic Director, Lyndy Franklin Smith (A Chorus Line, The Little Mermaid). The production will feature the Tony-nominated original Broadway choreography, by Jerry Mitchell, recreated and adapted by Brooke Engen, (Gypsy, Hairspray) and Tiffany Engen (Legally Blonde).

Heading the cast will be Emma Degerstedt as Elle Woods, who comes direct from starring as Ariel in The Little Mermaid at the St. Louis MUNY. Joining Degerstedt, will be Dan DeLuca (Newsies First National Tour) as Emmett Forrest; Katharine Leonard (Footloose, Hairspray) as Paulette; Kevin Pariseau, (Original Broadway Cast of Legally Blonde) as Professor Callahan; Reilly Richardson (Vivienne Kensington); Louis Griffin (Warner Huntington, III), Brianna Latrash (Brooke Wyndham), Casey Wenger-Schulman (Serena), Ali Funkhouser (Margot), Essence Williams (Pilar), and Audrey Belle Adams (Enid).

The company also includes Jessica Bayne, Kurtis Bradley Brown, Nathan Fister, Peter Gibbons, Delaney Guyer, Kyle Ivey, Ryan Lambert, ElizaBeth McGuire, Kyle Pollak, Bryn Purvis, DarIan Sanders, Katherine Tabisz, Sloan Theaker, Megan Valle, Daxx Jayroe Wieser, and Joseph Wrightson.

The canine stars of the show are trained by William Berloni Theatrical Animals - animal trainer for numerous Broadway productions.

The LEX combines Broadway veterans, local Lexington actors, and college students from across the country, along with a local and national Creative Team. In doing so, The LEX continues to fulfill its mission of providing first-rate, locally produced, professional theatre, while serving as a training ground for up-and-coming artists. Universities represented in the cast include University of Cincinnati (CCM), University of Kentucky, University of Michigan, Oklahoma City University, Rider University, Ball State University, Wright State University, Samford University and Western Kentucky University.

The Creative Team also boasts local and national talent. Co-Directing the production will be Lexington natives, Laura Bell Bundy (Legally Blonde, Hairspray) and Lyndy Franklin Smith (A Chorus Line, The Little Mermaid). Jerry Mitchell's Tony-nominated choreography will be recreated and adapted by Brooke Engen, (Hairspray) and Tiffany Engen (Legally Blonde). Lexington's Brock Terry will serve as Music Director. NYC-based Vocal Coach, Andrew Byrne, will serve as Vocal Coach. Lexington's Tanya Harper will be Lighting Designer. And University of Kentucky Professor Tony Hardin is Production Coordinator. Jeremy Lee (Tarzan, The Woman in White, Bombay Dreams) will be Sound Designer. Wardrobe Coordinator/Wig Designer is Joseph D. Sibley (On Your Feet, Bandstand). Production Stage Manager is Brandon T. Holmes (Ensemble Theatre Cincinnati). Lexington's Gretchen Shoot and Eric N. Mattingly serve as Stage Manager and Assistant Stage Manager, respectively.

The LEX Orchestra includes: Bryan Angel (Percussion), Sonny Burnette (Woodwinds), Rich Byrd (Trumpet), Rick Cook (Trumpet), Casey DeMattina (Drums), Jerram John (Keyboard), Luke Jackson (Guitar), Bradley Kerns (Trombone), Julie Lastinger (Violin), Larry Nelson (Woodwinds), Paul Reich (Bass), Michael Rintamaa (Keyboard), under the direction of Brock Terry.

Members of The LEX High School Apprentice Program - Performance Division include: Jamie Bradley, Caroline Capello, Reagan Earlywine, Jessica Majors, Jack McElroy, Anna Midden, Lily Rasmussen, and Joseph Waterbury-Tieman. Members of the The LEX High School Apprentice Program - Technical Division include: Jen Chaney, Robbie Parrott, John Henry Reynolds, and Elia Zonio.

The LEX College Internship Program includes: Nicolás Acosta, Kelsey Rose Brown, Emilia Bustle, Griffin Allen, Christa Hanks, Kate Pozner, Alison Rickert. and Greta Rosenstock. The LEX Observership Program includes Shanna Robinson.

Legally Blonde will play the Opera House, July 20-23 and is presented by Variety Live at the Opera House, with Co-Producing Sponsor, KentuckyOne Health; Media Sponsor WKYT-Channel 27; Sponsors Central Bank and "In The Beginning" - A Web Series. Additional grant/subsidy support is from the Opera House Fund and LexArts.
