As previously announced, Nederlander Sales and Patron Services and Camp Broadway® will host "Partners in Education Expo" for educators throughout the New York City and the surrounding areas on Monday, October 19 at Broadway's Minskoff Theatre from 4:00pm - 7:30pm. This event will provide attending educators with strategies and techniques for using performing arts to enrich learning. 

The Expo will include booths from licensing houses, meet and greets with theatre artists, and interactive demonstrations. There will also be information about popular NYC educational attractions and restaurants to help customize fieldtrips. 

Representatives will be on-hand from more than a dozen Broadway shows including Wicked, Billy Elliot, West Side Story, In the Heights, Memphis, Next to Normal, and Ragtime, to help familiarize educators with the storylines and the scope of educational possibilities through theater. The Expo will feature meet and greets with theatre artists, booths from licensing houses, and popular NYC attractions to help you customize your fieldtrips. Theatre-related books will be available for purchase from Drama Book Shop.

Confirmed guest speakers include producer/actor Sean McCourt and author Bo Metzler.  McCourt created and currently produces "Behind The Emerald Curtain," the popular theatre education experience that is held in the Wicked Lobby on Saturday mornings. Experienced as an actor in Wicked and Mary Poppins, Mr. McCourt will describe how his program provides a unique view at the hundreds of people and millions of details that are all part of the theatre, backstage. Metzler, author of the book, "What We Do In The Theatre," will discuss how and why he wrote this book, what it means to him, and how it can be useful to atendees. The presentation will include a Q&A and book signing opportunities.

In addition, attendees will have an opportunity to win tickets to Broadway shows and area attractions, memorabilia, books, artwork and CD's. Complimentary light refreshments will be served. For those wishing to participate in the drawings for the prizes, reservations can be made online to enter to win a wide variety of prizes. Drawings will be held both at 5:00 pm and at 6:30 pm. Participants must be present at the expo to win.

The event will be held in the lobby of the Minskoff Theatre, on corner of Broadway and 45th (home to THE LION KING) from 4:00pm - 7:30pm.  Space is filling up, so educators who wish to attend must register immediately.
