Frank Wildhorn's EXCALIBUR Concept Album Hits No. 1 on iTunes, Amazon
Frank Wildhorn's Excalibur (book: Ivan Menchell; lyrics: Robin Lerner; German translation: Nina Schneider) opened to rave reviews in St. Gallen Switzerland on March 15. Today, April 3, was the release of the cast album, which hit no. 1 on both Amazon and iTunes.
The CD was released on Hitsquad Records and was produced by Frank Wildhorn, Martin Bohm, and Ludwig Coss. Wildhorn has a collaboration with Hitsquad Records "MWB" (Music WIthout Borders), which has already released European cast recordings of Dracula, Monte Cristo, Rudolf, and Wildhorn & Friends concert with Linda Eder, Thomas Borchert, and Pia Douwes.
Artus Excalibur is the title of the new musical in Europe. It is starring the top names of musical theatre, including: Patrick Stanke (Artus), Mark Seibert (Lancelot), Thomas Borchert (Merlin), Sabrina Weckerlin (Morgana), and Annemieke van Dam (Guenevire).
Orchestrations and Arrangements are by Koen Schoots, Wildhorn's music supervisor in Europe. The creative team features: Frank Wildhorn (Music), Koen Schoots and Stéphane Fromageot (Conductors), Francesca Zambello (Director), Peter J. Davison (Set Design), Sue Willmington (Costume Design), Mark McCullough (Lighting Design), Katy Tucker (Projections), Stephan Linde and Christian Scholl (Sound Design), Eric Sean Fogel (Choreographer), Rick Sordelet (Fight Choreographer), Ariane Swoboda (Dance Captain), Tristan Adams and Richard Leggett (Fight Captain), Jeff Frohner (Assistant Musical Director), Michael Vogel (Choir Rehearsal), and Serge Honegger (Dramaturg).
This is the second world premiere of a Frank Wildhorn show, in St. Gallen Switzerland. „The Count of Monte Cristo" opened in 2009 and played in Germany, Korea and Japan, the first US production will be in 2016/17.
