HAMILTON creator and Tony Award winner Lin-Manuel Miranda and Miguel Cervantes, who will take on the role of Alexander Hamilton in Chicago beginning Sept. 27, grace the cover of the October Issue of Chicago Magazine.

Today, Cervantes, and Chicago Magazine shared a first look at the special Hamilton issue:


Cervantes previously performed on Broadway in IF/THEN, AMERICAN IDIOT and 25th ANNUAL PUTNAM SPELLING BEE, and Off-Broadway in HAPPINESS at Lincoln Center and as Angel in GIANT at The Public Theatre. He has also been seen on television in MADAME SECRETARY, PERSON OF INTEREST, ROYAL PAINS & THE BLACK LIST. He holds a BFA in Musical Theatre from Emerson College.

Miranda's other Broadway credits include Composer/Lyricist/Usnavi of In the Heights (four Tony Awards including Best Musical and Best Score, Grammy Award, Pulitzer Prize finalist), Bring It On: The Musical (co-composer/co-lyricist, Tony nomination for Best Musical), West Side Story (2009 revival, Spanish translations). He will soon star opposite Emily Blunt in Disney's MARY POPPINS.

With book, music and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda, direction by Thomas Kail, choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler, music direction/orchestrations by Alex Lacamoire, Hamilton is based on Ron Chernow's biography of Founding Father Alexander Hamilton. The musical won eleven 2016 Tony Awards including Best Musical, Score, Book of a Musical, Direction of a Musical, Choreography and Orchestrations. Miranda received the Pulitzer Prize for Drama for Hamilton.
