FACING EAST, based on a play by CAROL LYNN PEARSON follows an upstanding Mormon couple faced with the suicide of their gay son. When they unexpectedly meet their son's partner they must face a reality long ignored, and reconcile feelings with beliefs. After workshops in Chicago and Dallas the show had a developmental charity concert at the Lyric Theatre in London, England starring several West End artists, directed by Ryan Mooney. This world premiere is the first time the show will receive a full production, with a Canadian cast and production team, and is the 40th production for FIGHTING CHANCE PRODUCTIONS.

FIGHTING CHANCE PRODUCTIONS has received rave reviews for their takes on RENT, SWEENEY TODD and most recently the sold out CATS. The company has introduced Vancouver audiences to GREY GARDENS, THRILL ME and BARE: A POP OPERA, and re-invented classics like THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW and JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR.

FACING EAST stars JESSE ALVAREZ (CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG, BONNIE & CLYDE), FRANCIS BOYLE (COMPANY), MATTHEW MONTGOMERY (DOGFIGHT, HEATHERS: THE MUSICAL) and MANDANA NAMAZI (WELCOME TO THEBES). Fighting Chance Artistic Director RYAN MOONEY directs the world premiere with STEVEN GREENFIELD (HEATHERS: THE MUSICAL) music directing.

FACING EAST is produced by FIGHTING CHANCE PRODUCTIONS and NATHAN GARDNER in association with SEAN BRYAN, DEBORAH BARRIGAN and DANNY BROOKE. The music is by DAVID RIGANO, with book and lyrics by MARK EUGENE GARCIA.

FACING EAST runs April 23 - May 14 at the Jericho Arts Centre in Vancouver. Tickets are available at http://www.ticketstonight.ca
