First Lady Michelle Obama posed for her official portrait wearing a navy silk and wool dress by Reed Krakoff. This marks the third time in a month the First Lady chose the designer for major political moments. FLOTUS wore Reed Krakoff with a cashmere sweater to President Obama's official swearing-in ceremony Jan. 20, then wore the sweater again for the luncheon the next day at the Capitol. She then wore customized Reed Krakoff boots to walk in the inaugural parade on January 21.
The portrait shows a very refined and classic look for Michelle Obama. It is very different than her official portrait four years ago when she was photographed standing in a sleeveless black Michael Kors dress that accentuated her (much-talked-about) well-toned arms. Another difference? First Lady Michelle Obama went with a classic single strand of pearls instead of a double. But the biggest difference in the two portraits is, of course, her "midlife crisis" bangs, as she has described them to Rachel Ray.
