TNT bids farewell to the iconic TV character J.R. Ewing tonight. In Larry Hagman's final episode, Bobby retaliates against John Ross and Sue Ellen's bid to take over Ewing Energies, with help from his and J.R.'s brother Gary (guest star Ted Shackelford). On next week's show, J.R.'s family will come together to mourn his passing, accompanied by many characters from the iconic TV character's past. The episode airs at 9:00 pm/ET on TNT.

Hagman died on November 23, 2012 at the age of 81. At the time, TNT had released a statement saying, "All of us at TNT are deeply saddened at the news of Larry Hagman's passing. He was a wonderful human being and an extremely gifted actor. We will be forever thankful that a whole new generation of people got to know and appreciate Larry through his performance as J.R. Ewing. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family at this very difficult time."

Son of Broadway's Mary Martin, Hagman graced the Broadway stage throughout the late '50s and early '60s in The Beauty in Part, The Warm Peninsula, The Nervous Set, God and Kate Murphy and Comes a Day.

Hagman rose to fame with his conniving portrayal on CBS' "Dallas" from 1978 to 1991. Despite a recent battle with cancer, Hagman had returned to the show to film the first-and part of the second-season of TNT's reboot. On television, Hagman also appeared as 'Major Anthony Nelson' on ABC's "I Dream Of Jeannie".

About DALLAS:

Dallas centers on the Ewing clan, an enormously wealthy Texas family whose sibling rivalries, romantic betrayals, corruption and even murder are truly legendary. The exciting drama brings back three iconic stars from the original Dallas: Patrick Duffy as Bobby Ewing, Linda Gray as Sue Ellen Ewing and Larry Hagman as J.R. Ewing. They are joined by the next generation of Ewings, who take ambition and Deception to a new level. Josh Henderson is John Ross, the son of J.R. and Sue Ellen Ewing, while Jesse Metcalfe is Christopher, Bobby's adopted son. Jordana Brewster also stars as Elena Ramos, John Ross' girlfriend and Christopher's former fiancee, while Julie Gonzalo is Rebecca Sutter, Christopher's wife. Brenda Strong stars as Bobby's wife, Ann.

This season, three new series regulars will join the cast. Mitch Pileggi, who guest-starred in the first season, plays Harris Ryland, Ann's manipulative and cunning ex-husband. Emma Bell is Emma Brown, a sheltered beauty whose father has taught her to distrust the world around her. And Kuno Becker is Drew Ramos, Elena's troubled brother who returns to Southfork to continue drilling on his father's land.
