FROM COMO TO HOMO - Juggling a Stage Mom, Gender Confusion and Tap! - written and performed by Lynne Jassem (comic, tap dancer, monologist, singer, physical comedian) - will have it's West Coast Premiere at the San Francisco Fringe Festival for a limited engagement, September 12, 13, 19 & 25, 2015 at Exit Theatre - Stage Left. Lynne Jassem tells the story of her 10 year old self as she juggles her career on the Perry Como TV Show with the strict demands of her stage mother (the ex-Rockette), gender-confusion and a bumpy ride into the world of mortality and tap dancing.

Peter Michael Marino directs the show with tap dance influences from Brenda Bufalino.

BIOS:

Lynne Jassem: (comic, tap dancer, monologist, singer, physical comedian) - is a native New Yorker. She broke into show business at the age of 10 on the Perry Como TV Show in 1957. She also performed in the "Borscht Belt" (Catskill Mountains), and on the soap opera 'The Edge Of Night'. Lynne has toured internationally with the Claude Kipnis Mime Theatre - performing at The White House, The Boston Pops on PBS, The Kennedy Center and Lincoln Center. In 1981 she formed her own company Manhattan Mime Theatre and toured the tri-state area. Ms. Jassem was one of the 5 founding members of the American Tap Dance Orchestra and performed in several venues including Dance on PBS with tap legend Gregory Hines. Lynne has performed her one-woman shows "Billy" and "Rhythm Anonymous" across the USA and Europe. Lynne was produced by the San Francisco Dance Theatre to perform "Tapestry...A Story of an Artist Trapped In The Corporate World" in 2000. She formed her own Tap Theatre Company, Stepfire, in 1999, performing and teaching in multiple venues throughout the SF Bay Area.

Lynne is excited about her San Francisco Fringe engagement where she will present her new show "From Como To Homo." Juggling a Stage Mom, Gender Confusion and Tap! The show has played at Orlando Fringe Festival (5/15); Producer's Club - NYC 4/15; Premier Center For the Arts - Milton, Delaware (6/15).

Peter Michael Marino is a NYC-based director, writer, performer, producer and teacher. His award-winning solo comedy "Desperately Seeking the Exit" toured the world for over two years and recounts the tale of writing his West End flop Blondie musical "Desperately Seeking Susan." He is the creator of the long-running variety show COJONES; and the creator and co-producer of SOLOCOM at The People's Improv Theater. This annual solo comedy festival in NYC has launched the debut of over 150 original solo shows, including Lynne Jassem's "From Como to Homo." Peter's solo-talk-show-spoof "Late with Lance!" plays the Orlando Fringe 2015 before heading to Hollywood Fringe and Edinburgh Fringe. www.petermmarino.com
