Tonight, July 22nd, NewFilmmakers screens a Short Film Program and Feature Presentations, FOOLS & SHOW BUSINESS.

6:00 PM Short Film Program

Tachie is young, single, and bored with her social life. She even considers turning blonde. But when Tachie caters a party for a beautiful couple, she finds the charismatic husband uninhibited and also looking for something new.

Tarik Karam THIS IS SHE (2015, 10 minutes)
A lonely woman plays a game with a mysterious spot on the walls of her new apartment.

A.V. Helm THE LETTERBOX (2015, 14 minutes)
A Composer trapped on a desert island struggles to write his magnum opus. Adding to the creative struggle is a pesky seagull that seems intent on disrupting his work as much as it can...or is it really trying to give him the final push he needs to create a masterpiece?

Chandler Kauffman KARL MANHAIR, POSTAL INSPECTOR (2015, 22 minutes)
Karl Manhair, Postal Inspector is a character-driven dark comedy about a down-and-out Postal Inspector struggling with his increasing irrelevance in the world.

The story of Sam and Susan, who move in together without exchanging a word. He's barely hanging on after being fired, again. She is fleeing an angry roommate. They make it work, the way two strange people can sometimes make strangeness work for them.

9:00 PM Second Feature Presentation

Alexander Tovar SHOW BUSINESS (2015, 84 minutes)

"Show Business" is an American comedy that follows screenwriter Guy Franklin as he moves from NYC to LA with his fiance? Cassandra. Hollywood producer Darvey Brillstein offers Guy a lucrative deal to adapt a kid's book.

NewFilmmakers screens at Anthology Film Archives on the Lower East Side at 32 Second Avenue & 2nd Street. Tickets are $6 and are good for the whole night and go on sale at 5:30PM the night of performance at the Anthology Box Office. There is no advanced or online sales.
