David Lawson's one-man show, Floundering About (in an age of terror) will play UNDER St. Marks as a part of the 2010 FRIGID New York Festival from February 25th through March 6th.

Originally workshopped at The Dramatists' Guild, Floundering About is a view of post September 11th paranoia as seen through teenage eyes. The piece explores the comedy and the drama of beginning to learn about the greater world in the mist of the anthrax attacks, the Beltway Sniper, heightened religious fanaticism, booming patriotism and tightened security.

Lawson has had his work produced at the Boston Playwrights' Theater, Boca Raton Theatre Guild (FL), the Stratford Summer Theatre Festival (CT) and Alive Theatre (CA) among others. He is the recipient of the 2006 Rod Parker Playwriting Fellowship, the 2009 Long Beach Gazette Award for Playwriting, an Honorable Mention in the 2007 E-Merging Writers Playwriting Competition and was recognized as a 2009 WordBRIDGE Semi-Finalist. As an actor he has worked professionally with the Zeitgeist Stage Company (Boston), The Peterborough Players (Peterborough, NH), Looking Glass Theatre Company (NYC), CLIMB Theatre (St. Paul, MN) and the Bread and Puppet Theater (Glover, VT).

Floundering About (in an age of terror) plays the UNDER St. Marks on Thurs Feb 25th (9PM), Sat Feb 27th (2:30PM), Sun Feb 28th (4PM), Wed March 3rd (6PM) and Sat March 6th (7PM). UNDER St Marks is located at 94 St Marks Place (between 1st Avenue and Avenue A) in New York City. Tickets are available through SmartTix (212-868-4444, www.smarttix.com) for $7.
