United Solo, the world's largest solo theatre festival and a resident company at Theatre Row on 42nd Street in New York City, presents a lineup of shows from six continents, twenty-three countries, and twenty-eight states. The fourth season of the annual festival will take place between October 3 and November 24, 2013, and will feature premieres and award-winning solo shows in various categories including drama, storytelling, documentary, multimedia acts, stand?up, magic, dance, and musical theatre.
Singer, author, and actress Zara Phillips will appear in BENEATH MY FATHER'S SKY, co-directed by Academy Award nominee Eric Roberts. Actor and TV host Christian Moralde is coming from Los Angeles with his personal story DON'T CALL ME WALTER! directed by Emmy Award-winning actor and director Charles St. Clair and produced by Dana Kenerson, 2012 Emmy nominated producer of Anderson Cooper's daily show. The New York Times bestselling author Mina Samuels will take the stage to deliberate on fear, risk, and taking chances in her solo piece HAZARDS. Twenty shows created by artists who have flourished at United Solo in the past, recognized with awards or returning by popular demand, fall into the ENCORE category. LONGING FOR GRACE (winner of three United Solo Awards in 2012), performed by Grace Kiley and directed by Austin Pendleton, will mark the director's fourth show at the Festival. Other artists who have been in all three previous seasons include Donald Molosi, whose presence at United Solo has been noted by the BBC and other international news outlets.Videos
