Ekaterina Gubanova Replaces Elina Garanca in the Met's ANNA BOLENA

Ekaterina Gubanova will sing the role of GiovAnna Seymour for this fall's performances of Donizetti's Anna Bolena, replacing El?na Garan?a, who has withdrawn due to pregnancy. Gubanova will sing the performances on September 26, 30, and October 3, 6, 10, 15 18, 21, and 28. Casting for the performances on February 1 and 4 will be announced at a later date.

Gubanova made her Met debut in the 07-08 season as Hélène Bezukhova in War and Peace and sang Giulietta in the 2009 new production premiere of Les Contes d'Hoffmann. On the Met's current tour to Japan, she made her Met role debut as Eboli in Don Carlo on June 5 in Nagoya.
The Met premiere of Anna Bolena, directed by David McVicar and conducted by Marco Armiliato, will open the 2011-12 season on September 26. The cast stars Anna Netrebko and Angela Meade in the title role, as well as Tamara Mumford as Smeton, Stephen Costello as Lord Percy, and Ildar Abdrazakov as Enrico.
