EVERYDAY RAPTURE's Lindsay Mendez Plays Joe's Pub 6/28

Lindsay Mendez, who can currently be seen on Broadway in EVERYDAY RAPTURE backing up Sherie Rene Scott, will go solo on June 28 at Joe's Pub for a one-night only concert.

Vocalist Lindsay Mendez and jazz pianist Marco Paguia will collaborate on interpretations of the singers and songwriters that inspire them most, including Nina Simone, Lennon/McCartney, Peter Gabriel, Jeff Buckley, George Gershwin, Harold Arlen, among others. This evening of classic and creative music-making by some of New York's finest musicians will definitely be a night to remember that makes you hear your favorite songs in an entirely new way.

Mendez was an original cast member of the most recent Broadway revival of Grease, playing the role of Jan. Off-Broadway; The Marvelous Wonderettes (Westside Theater). Other/Regional: Band Geeks! (NAMT), Rated RSO; The Music and Lyrics of Ryan Scott Oliver (The Kennedy Center, NYMF), Princesses (Goodspeed Opera House, 5th Avenue Theater)Other concert credits include: Band Geeks! (NAMT), Rated RSO; The Music and Lyrics of Ryan Scott Oliver (The Kennedy Center, NYMF, Joe's Pub), Go the Distance, and The Lyrics of David Zippel (Jazz at Lincoln Center, Kaufman Center). Recordings include: "Grease" (OCR), "New York City Christmas" (a benefit for ASTEP), and "Everyday Rapture" (OCR). Lindsay is the lead singer of the cover band,"Limbsakimbo," who recently played a night of Marvin Gaye at Joe's Pub entitled "What's Going on."

Marco Paguia is an accomplished Musician and Composer sought after for his proven versatility across many styles of music whose work is enhanced by his significant accomplishments as a Theater Music Director. Most notably, Mr.Paguia is the Music Director for the Tony-nominated production of Everyday Rapture. Mr. Paguia's experience as a composer includes the "Best Play" and "Fringe First" award-winning How to Act Around Cops (New York and Edinburgh Fringe Festivals) and the film Resolve (Singularity Productions). A successful and recognized pianist as well, Mr. Paguia released Small Hours, the debut album with his jazz trio. Mr. Paguia was a two-time finalist for the American Pianists' Association Cole Porter Fellowship (2001 & 2004). Highlights of his Music Directing career include Disney's On The Record (National Tour), Peter and the Starcatchers (La Jolla Playhouse), and Flower Drum Song (National Tour). Mr. Paguia was also a Pianist and Conductor for the Broadway productions of Spring Awakening and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.
