Tell us a little bit about Notflix.

Notflix is an all-female long-form improvised comedy musical that takes inspiration from a film suggestion from the audience.

How much preparation can you really do for an improvised show?

Because we don't work with scripts or plan anything in advance the preparation we do is in terms of working as a group, to the point where we can literally read each others minds on stage. Our rehearsals focus on doing lots of practice shows so we are always prepared for any suggestion of film that may come up. We also watch lots of movies and listen to loads of musical soundtracks.

With the sell out success at both Edinburgh 2016 and The Vaults 2017- are you feeling any extra pressure this year?

We don't really feel pressure because we truly love what we do & that seems to attract audiences come rain or shine. We are so humbled to have been asked back by Gilded Balloon for a second year, so we just want to do them, as well as ourselves, proud.

What sets you apart from other improv groups at the festival?

We are an all-female long-form improv group, (we may well be the only ones at the Fringe) so that normally sets us apart & is quite exciting to see a team of women improvising musical comedy. Our style is very distinct; Notflix created a 'musical Harold', which, any improv fans will be able to appreciate, is a pretty unique & challenging form. We also throw in comedy & genuine (improvised) musical theatre, so it's a bit of everything. Us girls can sing, act & crack jokes along with improvising, so it's a genuinely satisfying and exciting show. Oh, and we've got some pretty noticeable jackets.

Are there any other shows you're hoping to catch in Edinburgh?

Very excited to catch Prom Kween, who did extremely well at VAULT Festival. We also love supporting all our Improv friends' shows.
