Duplicity Ensemble announces the first show of its 2nd Season: A Midwinter Night's Tale.

Inspired by the horrific winter of last year, Duplicity Ensemble combines two of Shakespeare's greatest plays to create a comedy to combat cabin fever. Four lovers crash into the quiet cabin of an old couple on a stormy night only to discover it's not as quiet as it seems. Magic, poetry, and muffins make for a heartwarming 90 minutes. But will everything get set right when everything goes wrong?

Written by ensemble members Anne Walaszek and Nathan Wonder, this modern Shakespeare mash-up is directed by Mike Hamilton. Mike Hamilton holds a B.F.A. in Theatre Performance from Virginia Commonwealth University. Primarily a performer in Chicago, he has worked with The Neofuturists, The Building Stage, Griffin Theatre Company, Awkward Pause, Redmoon, Alluvium Group, Lights Out Theatre, and coming up will be in Jackalope's new play Lunacy!

The cast of A Midwinter Night's Tale includes Eliza Rose Fichter, Amanda Giles, Matthew Lunt, Kit Rivers, Charlotte Thomas, and Kyle Whalen.

A Midwinter Night's Tale will be performed at Filament Theatre (4041 N Milwaukee) from March 20 - April 12, Thursdays, Fridays & Saturdays at 8pm, Sundays at 2pm. Industry Night: April 6th at 8pm. (Note: there will be no performance on April 5th.) Tickets are on sale now for $20 | $15 student/industry, with special discounts available for groups of 10 or more. ABOUT DUPLICITY ENSEMBLE - Duplicity Ensemble was founded by four Chicago-based artists on October 11, 2013. Pamela Maurer serves as the resident composer, Annaleah Tubbin as the choreographer, Anne Walaszek as the playwright, and Nathan Wonder as the Artistic Director. These four are establishing a unique theatrical aesthetic which seeks to explore the lies we tell ourselves and the challenges we face that come from within. Over the past year, Duplicity Ensemble has produced three original productions. They began with Anne Walaszek's Folk Bound, a new fairy tale exploring what it means to be home. The ensemble was then invited to produce I Have Been to the Wild Wood -- a new musical about our deepest fears -- at the first annual Chicago Musical Theatre Festival produced by Underscore Theatre. Finally, Anne Walaszek's two person play about anxiety in relationships called Lamp Oil made a splash at the Chicago Fringe Festival. After its critically-acclaimed first season, Duplicity Ensemble looks to continue building on their early successes with an even more ambitious line-up this year. DuplicityEnsemble.org
