DreamWrights Youth and Family Theatre has announced the opening of four November classes to introduce children from ages three to 16 to the magic of live theatre, while developing skills in performing arts, building creativity and gaining confidence.

"Through our educational fall classes at DreamWrights, we strive to inspire growth and creativity within children," said Shannon Hallisey, director of education of DreamWrights. "These classes serve as a hands-on guide to introduce our younger and older students to the magic of live theatre. They are taught a variety of skills such as learning how to audition, memorize lines, and voice projection. Our experienced teachers really make this an exciting experience."

Classes are instructed by a team of educators who work with DreamWrights' staff and have both classroom and practical experience with early childhood education and personal training in the performing arts categories. Students are given the opportunity to learn, be creative and express themselves through music, acting and technical skills with their class instructors and peers. DreamWrights is offering the following classes in November:

The Tale of the Gingerbread Man - A Musical Play (Ages 3-4)
Nov. 1, 8, 15, 22 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

Children will be introduced to the fun of performing on stage. These classes will bring the classic story of The Gingerbread Man to life with catchy, popular songs like "Let's Make Cookies," "Watch the Oven" and "Lookie, Lookie." The children will make up the characters in this play and will delight both actors and audience members with their performance in the final class, which family, friends and peers are invited to attend. Registration for this series includes all four classes and costs $72.

"Frozen" Karaoke (Ages 5-7)
Nov. 1, 8, 15, 22 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

These classes give Frozen fans a new way to sing and enjoy their favorite songs from the movie - in a musical karaoke! Students will also create winter-themed crafts, interact with one another through acting games and will have fun using their imagination through it all. Family, friends and peers are invited to the final class to see the students sing on stage for their audience. Registration for this series includes all four classes and costs $72.

Little Red Robin Hood Production (Ages 8-16)
Nov. 1, 8, 15, 22 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Nov. 3,6,10,13,17,20 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

This series serves as an actor's first production class and is great for both beginning and experienced students. They can expect to learn how to go through the audition process, memorize lines and project on stage, as each of them will have a role in this Little Red Robin Hood production. These classes will take students on a hilarious detour through Robin Hood's Nottingham and Sherwood Forest, where Little Red Robin Hood must deal with the Big Bad Sheriff of Naughty Hams. Students will perform this production on stage in the final class, which family, friends and peers are invited to attend as the audience. Registration for this series includes all classes (either Nov. 1,8, 15 and 22 or Nov. 3, 6, 10, 13, 17 and 20) and costs $220, including a five dollar script fee.
