Doubt's Adriane Lenox Appears at Borders, Aug. 11

Tony Award-winning Doubt star Adriane Lenox will appear at Border's Columbus Circle (located in the Shops at Columbus Circle) on Thursday, August 11 at 6:30pm. Audience members will be able to ask Lenox questions and she will also participate in a script signing; the event will last approximately one hour.

Doubt, which broke records at the Walter Kerr Theatre (219 W. 48th St.), won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, as well as the 2005 Tony Award for Best Play. Cherry Jones received a Tony for Best Actress in a Play, as did Adriane Lenox for Best Featured Actress in a Play; director Doug Hughes was also honored with an award. Doubt was also nominated for four other Tonys, and also received the New York Drama Critics Circle Award for Best Play of the Year, the Drama League Award for Distinguished Play, and four Outer Critics Circle Awards, including Best Play and four Lucille Lortel Awards, including Best Play.

Lenox, who won a 2005 Tony as Mrs. Muller in Doubt, made her Broadway debut in Ain't Misbehavin,' and has since appeared in Dreamgirls (as well as in its benefit concert), How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, The Gershwins' Fascinating Rhythm, Kiss Me, Kate and most recently, Caroline, or Change (as the standby for Caroline). She has appeared on TV in "Third Watch," "Law and Order," "Law and Order: SVU" and "Double Platinum."

Set against the backdrop of a Bronx Catholic school in 1964, Doubt is the story of a strong-minded woman faced with a difficult decision. Should she voice concerns about one of her male colleagues…even if she's not entirely certain of the truth?

In addition to O'Byrne as the suspicious Father Flynn and Jones as Sister Aloysius, Doubt's cast includes Heather Goldenhersh as Sister James.

Doubt features set design by John Lee Beatty, costume design by Catherine Zuber, lighting design by Pat Collins, and original music and sound design by David Van Tieghem.  Doubt is produced by Carole Shorenstein Hays, MTC Productions Inc. (Lynne Meadow, Artistic Director; Barry Grove, Executive Producer), Roger Berlind and Scott Rudin.

The performance schedule is Tuesday through Saturday at 8:00 PM, with matinees on Wednesday and Saturday at 2:00 PM, and Sunday at 3:00 PM.
