New York-based theatre company Diverging Elements Theatre Co. will present HEROINES IN HISTORY, an evening of three original productions, ANNE FRANK: MY SECRET LIFE, A LETTER TO AUNTIE ROSA, and INEZ: THE SUFFRAGE HERALD, as part of RADD Fest Off-Broadway.

ANNE FRANK: MY SECRET LIFE, written by Patricia Buckley in association with Syracuse Stage, is a retelling of one of the most iconic pieces of literature of the twentieth century, The Diary of Anne Frank. Performed by Erin Schmidt and directed by Lauren Unbekant, audiences will be thrust back to the days of World War II and into the mind and secret thoughts of one of history's greatest heroines as she discovers inner strength and expression during the most formidable time in her life in one of the most devastating periods in global history.

A LETTER TO AUNTIE ROSA, written by Angelica Cheri, and with original music by Ross Baum and Ben Holtzman of RANGE a cappella, is inspired by the relationship between Rosa Parks and her niece Sheila McCauley-Keys. It captures a pivotal moment in Sheila's life when she realizes the impact her heroic aunt had on American history and society. Through this moment of discovery, Sheila's perspective on her aunt and on our country's history will be forever transformed. The production stars Betty Etheredge and features the a cappella talents of Izzie Flores, Angela Travino, and Jeremiah Haley of RANGE a cappella and is directed by Sammy Lopez.

INEZ: THE SUFFRAGE HERALD, written and performed by Melissa Jessel, is an introduction to one of history's loudest and most effective female activists, Inez Millholand. Dedicated to equality regardless of class, race, or gender, known for her Amazonian beauty and her courageous temperament, Inez was responsible for sowing the seeds that grew into the suffragette movement. A heroic and iconic suffragette, Inez proved to be an irreplaceable public speaker and leader who helped move a nation to change.
