Disney Channel Takes Total Day in All Major Youth Demos

For the week of August 26, 2013, Disney Channel ranked as TV's #1 network in Total Day across target Kids 2-11 (862,000/2.2 rating), Kids 6-11 (620,000/2.6 rating) and Tweens 9-14 (525,000/2.2 rating), marking the network's 116th week at #1 in Kids 6-11 and Tweens - dates back to week of 6/13/11.

Disney Channel towered over runner up Nickelodeon by at least double digits for the 95th consecutive week in Kids 6-11 (+43% - 620,000 vs. 434,000) and 97th straight week in Tweens (+88% - 525,000 vs. 279,000).

In Prime, Disney Channel stood as cable TV's #1 network for the 433th week in a row among Kids 6-11 (941,000/4.0 rating - 8+ years) and 170th in Tweens 9-14 (807,000/3.3 rating - 3+ years).

Led by the 8th encore of mega hit "Teen Beach Movie" and "Dog With a Blog," Disney Channel aired the week's Top 4 TV telecasts in Kids 2-11, Top 19 telecasts in Kids 6-11 (45 of 50 - Top 5 below) and Top 31 in Tweens 9-14.

With only a few weeks remaining in 3Q13, the Disney Junior block is out-performing Nickelodeon head to head with preschool programming by significant margins: by 35% in Total Viewers (1.87 million vs. 1.39 million), by 33% in Kids 2-5 (569,000 vs. 427,000), by 49% in Girls 2-5 (315,000 vs. 212,000) and by 19% in Boys 2-5 (255,000 vs. 215,000).

3Q13 to date, led by "Sofia the First," the block is home to cable TV's Top 7 preschool telecasts in Kids 2-5 and the Top 20 in Girls 2-5.

The 24-hour Disney Junior Channel ranked as cable TV's #1 preschool- committed network in Total Day for the 22nd consecutive week - each week since reporting public ratings on 4/1/13 - with Kids 2-5 (224,000/1.4 rating) and Boys 2-5 (121,000/1.5 rating), for the 5th straight week in Girls 2-5 (103,000/1.3 rating) and for the 21st time in the previous 22 weeks in Total Viewers (414,000).

Disney Junior Channel recorded its largest competitive advantage to date over Nick Jr. in Kids 2-5 (+59% - 224,000 vs. 141,000), Girls 2-5 (+30% - 103,000 vs. 79,000) and Boys 2-5 (+92% - 121,000 vs. 63,000), and its 2nd-largest advantage ever in Total Viewers (+35% - 414,000 vs. 306,000), despite being in 15.4 million fewer homes..

Disney Junior Channel out-delivered Sprout by triple digits for the 22nd week in a row across target demos: Total Viewers (+144% - 414,000 vs. 170,000), Kids 2-5 (+195% - 224,000 vs. 76,000) and Boys 2-5 (+317% - 121,000 vs. 29,000), and by at least double digits for the 22nd week running in Girls 2-5 (+115% - 103,000 vs. 48,000).
