Thomas Schnauz, who won two Emmys writing for BREAKING BAD and BETTER CALL SAUL, will pen the script. Gilligan is eyeing the director's chair.

No plot details have been revealed on the "revisionist take" of the classic tale, which traditionally follows Jack, a boy living with his widowed mother and a milk cow he trades for magic beans which, when planted, grow into a beanstalk that leads Jack to a giant's house in the sky. Jack steals a goose that lays golden eggs and a self-playing harp from the giant and his wife. And when the giant attempts to climb down the beanstalk after Jack, he cuts it down, killing the creature and living happily ever after.

Gilligan has also written and produced for the TV series BATTLE CREEK, THE X-FILES, THE LONE GUNMEN and HARSH REALM.
