Broadway producer Dede Harris has optioned the music catalogue of Diane Warren, one of the most popular and successful contemporary songwriters of our time, to create a new musical for the Broadway stage.

The creative team and a timeline for the project will be announced at a later date.

Grammy and Golden Globe Award-winner and six-time Academy Award nominee Diane Warren is the first songwriter in the history of Billboard to have seven hits, all by different artists, on the singles chart at the same time. She is known globally for platinum-selling songs performed by legends like Elton John, Beyonce, Tina Turner, Barbra Streisand, Whitney Houston, Christina Aguilera, Celine Dion Aerosmith, Ricky Martin, Faith Hill, Celine Dion, Mary J. Blige, Carrie Underwood Britney Spears, Jennifer Hudson and LeAnn Rimes among many others. Her more than 100 Top Ten hits include the platinum-selling “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing,” “If I Could Turn Back Time,” “How Do I Live”, “Unbreak My Heart”, “Because You Loved Me” and many more.

Diane Warren is one of the most prolific songwriters of all time. She has been nominated for 9 Grammy Awards, (winning for the song “Because You Loved Me”) and 5 Golden Globe Awards. She has been inducted into the Songwriters Hall Of Fame, named ASCAP’s Songwriter of the Year 6 times and Billboard’s Songwriter of the Year 4 times. Some of her big movie hits include “How Do I Live” performed by Trisha Yearwood for Con Air and also a chart-topper sung by LeAnn Rimes as well, “Because You Loved Me” sung by Celine Dion for the film Up Close And Personal, “Music Of My Heart,” sung by *NSYNC and Gloria Estefan for the film Music Of The Heart, “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing” performed by Aerosmith for Armageddon, and “Do You Feel Me” from American Gangster sung by Anthony Hamilton. Diane won the 2011 Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song for the powerful ballad “You Haven’t Seen the Last of Me,” which is performed by Cher in the movie Burlesque, starring Cher and Christina Aguilera. Most recently, Diane has penned the original song, “Silver Lining” performed by Jessie J for the upcoming feature Silver Linings Playbook. In addition, she has written “Unfinished Songs” performed by Celine Dion for the feature film Song For Marion. Diane also wrote the song “I Was Here” for Beyonce’s latest record, “4,” which hit number one on the Billboard charts. The video for the song was shot at the U.N. to launch World Humanitarian Day and it has reached over 1 billion people.
