It's holiday time, and Room 1 is doing a lot of things to celebrate, like making elf costumes and singing carols. Tattletale May keeps ruining Junie B.'s holiday glee. When Junie B. picks a name for Secret Santa, she gets stuck with Tattletale you-know-who. Although momentarily swayed by seasonal greed and nasty feelings for May, you know that Junie B. will figure it all out and do the right thing -- in this case, avoiding being what she calls a "shellfish" person. Don't miss this family-friendly story, with a message about the importance of giving.

"Junie B. in Jingle Bells Batman Smells!" is based on the series of books by Barbara Park. The Playhouse cast of 10, under the direction of Brett Spahr, features Maggie Matternas as Junie B., Joy Mielke as May, Dayna Dunnwald as Lucille, Roan Withers as Sheldon, Ben Theuma as Herb, Darien Rouse as Roger, Chance Bender as Jose, Jason Crowley as Mr. Scary, J Michael Kellar as Mr. Toot/Grampa Miller, and Melinda Dunnwald as Elf Ellen.

The Playhouse is Iowa's oldest and largest producing theatre. Located at the 42nd Street exit of I-235, the theatre has presented a full season of shows since 1919 and also offers a wide variety of educational experiences including classes for ages 4 to adult, theatre trips to New York, and volunteer opportunities onstage and backstage.
