"Heart-stopping," according to The New York Times, DIAVOLO launches into architecturally inspired terrain with choreographic precision, stunningly powerful dancers and massive, pin-wheeling and soaring stage props. This extraordinarily athletic and innovative troupe delivers jaw-dropping performance to The Eccles Center on Monday and Tuesday, December 28 & 29. Performance begins at 7:30 p.m. Tickets and information are available via the box office, 435-655-3114 or online at www.EcclesCenter.org.

Under the artistic direction of Jacques Heim, DIAVOLO | Architecture in Motion fuses architecture and movement in a performance featuring bespoke structures, which serve as the inspiration for each work - as well as intensely physical choreography. The Park City performance includes two works: the signature piece "Trajectoire" and 2012's "Transit Space."

"Hypnotic," according to The Dallas Morning News, "Trajectoire" is a visceral and emotional journey through the ebb and flow of the human experience - with a massive, boat-like structure as the centerpiece. Influenced and inspired by the documentary "Dogtown and Z-Boys" and the urban environment of Los Angeles, "Transit Space" uses skateboard ramps as set pieces to represent an urban environment that is affected by ever-shifting physical and emotional spaces, representing the depth of our connections to ourselves and to the world around us.

The 23 year-old, Los Angeles-based, dance company is dedicated to works that reveal how we are affected - emotionally, physically and socially - by the spaces we inhabit. According to Newsday, "Heim puts his feel for props, his knack for kinetic drama and his taste for danger in the service of a metaphor, and the result is dazzling." And thanks to what the San Diego Union-Tribune describes as "seriously athletic...high-risk performance style," the result is hyper-physical, world-class, elegant dance phenomenon that speaks to audiences of all ages and stages.

"DIAVOLO is the perfect show for the holidays because it appeals to everyone - dance aficionados as well as audience members who know absolutely nothing about dance, but love the thrill of high flying spectacle, grace and athleticism," says PCI executive director Teri Orr. "Bring the whole family."
