DCINY Salutes National Day of Service with Concerts 1/20 & 21

Distinguished Concerts International New York (DCINY), inspired by President Obama's National Day of Service and Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service , offers service through music with two powerful and inspirational concerts on January 20 and 21 at Carnegie Hall featuring chorus and orchestra.

The Sounds of War and Peace (Chapters 1 and 2) features Jonathan Willcocks's epic A Great and Glorious Victory (Carnegie Hall premiere); Music for Future Peacemakers, works embodied with messages of hope conducted by Francesco Núñez; and Karl Jenkins' seminal work The Armed Man: A Mass for Peace, conducted by Jonathan Griffith.

Performing in the concert will be New York Police Officer Bill Menendez as well as the daughter of American serviceman Sergeant BrIan Taylor. DCINY aims to promote peace and community through music by reaching out to ensembles throughout the world. This weekend we will welcome to New York ensembles from Croatia, Australia, the UK and from across the United States.
