The lighthearted whimsy of the Vince Guaraldi Trio's A CHARLIE BROWN CHRISTMAS comes to life through the lyrically sophisticated musicianship of pianist Cyrus Chestnut and his trio.

Omaha Performing Arts presents the Cyrus Chestnut Trio - A Jazzy Christmas on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at 7:30 p.m. in the Scott Recital Hall of the Holland Performing Arts Center, 1200 Douglas St.

This is the first performance in the 2015/16 1200 Club Series, which transforms the Scott Recital Hall into a relaxed nightclub setting. The 1200 Club Series is sponsored by Mutual of Omaha. Special thanks to hospitality sponsor Hilton Omaha.

Chestnut is a musical force that utilizes his classical, spiritual, and jazz influences to entertain and capture his audiences. As one of the world's most respected pianists, he has been lauded by various jazz publications and featured in the New York Times for his unique musical style. A noted bandleader and music director, Chestnut has played at the world's premier venues and festivals, including the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, the Montreux Jazz Festival, the North Sea Jazz Festival, Jazz at Lincoln Center, and the New Orleans Jazz Fest.
