Cross Creek to Bring Lori Roy's BENT ROAD to Big Screen

Variety reports Cross Creek Pictures has optioned the film rights to BENT ROAD, a mystery novel by Lori Roy. Mark Willouk is set to write the screenplay for the project from Benderspink. 

According to the report, the tale focuses on "a man who left home in Kansas as a youth after the mysterious death of one his older sisters, then returns with his family 20 years later when another little girl goes missing." The film is compared to other Benderspink produced pictures such as "Road to Perdition" and "A History of Violence."

Other recent Cross Creek ventures include "BLACK SWAN", "Rush", "The Ides of March," "The Woman in Black" and "A Walk Among the Tombstones," coming soon to theaters. The studio is currently in development on "The Creed of Violence."

Benderspink is currently working on the upcoming New Line comedy films, "The Incredible Burt Wonderstone" and "We're the Millers." It has joined forces with Universal on "Ride Along" as well as "The Hangover 3," from Warner Bros.
