Earlier today, BWW reported that Glee star Cory Monteith has voluntarily checked himself into rehab due to substance addiction. (read article here) Now Deadline reports that the actor will miss the final two episodes of the current fourth season of the FOX musical drama.

According to the site, filming will proceed 'as scheduled', with the unexpected absense of Monteith's character Finn explained. "Cory is a beloved member of the Glee family and we fully support his decision to seek treatment," Glee producer 20th Century FOX TV said in a statement. "Everyone at the show wishes him well and looks forward to his return."

The 30-year-old actor has been vocal about his past issues with substance abuse, revealing to Parade Magazine in 2011 that he was "out of control" as a teenager growing up in Victoria, British Columbia. He told the magazine that by age 16, he was "doing anything and everything, as much as possible." The actor was previously admitted to rehab at the age of 19.

Monteith's girlfriend of a year, actress Lea Michele, said in a statement to People Magazine, "I love and support Cory and will stand by him through this. I am grateful and proud he made this decision." The couple met on the set of the FOX series.
