The Texas Rep Theatre Co., Houston's Uptown Classic Theatre, continues a tradition of holiday entertainment excellence in it's Ninth season with another New Year's Eve Extravaganza featuring Houston's award-winning improvisational masterminds ComedySportz, with special musical guests Texas Repertory company members Lendsey Kersey and Christina Stroup. There will be two performances on December 31st: one at 4pm and another at 9pm.

ComedySportz is an ingenious concoction of improvisational comedy among competitive teams, using audience suggestions to create hysterical sketches, not unlike a cross between Whose Line Is It Anyway, and NFL football. This audience participation show is overseen by a referee, who keeps the hysterical action moving and the jokes family-friendly. Two teams of comics compete for the audience's approval, and the fate of each unique show in doubt until the clock expires. Adding to the evening's fun are Texas Repertory songbirds Lendsey Kersey (Nunsense, Beehive) and Christina Stroup (Company, Smokey Joe's Café) performing selections chosen especially for the event. Admission is $45 and includes complimentary champagne.

Performing in its 9th anniversary season, The Texas Repertory Theatre Co. has become one of Houston's premiere theatrical venues, and continues to offer year-round seasons of plays and musicals to the deserving audiences of NW Houston.
