Columbus Children's Theatre is pleased to announce the appointment of Susan Pringle as its new Executive Director. Susan brings with her over 20 years of nonprofit and managerial experience to this long-standing Columbus institution. Susan assumed her duties beginning on January 17, 2017.

Susan's background perfectly positions her to assume this role as Executive Director. With significant experience in 501c3 governance, compliance, fundraising, talent acquisition, and accounting practices, Susan will work to advance CCT's current strategic plans and guide CCT through its next 50 years of success. Artistic Director William Goldsmith shared this:

"All of us at CCT are thrilled to welcome Susan Pringle to our staff. With her extensive background in non-profit management and strategic planning, we look forward to a great future as we continue to build CCT into a world-class children's theatre."

Prior to this position, Susan spent 2 years being a partner in her own company, In the Black. At In the Black, Susan provided contracting services such as strategic and development planning for nonprofit organizations. Before partnering in her own company, Susan worked for 8 years in Louisville, Kentucky at two different organizations. She was the Development Director for the Merton Institute and then the Business Manager for Green Earth Outdoors. Susan will be obtaining a M.S. in Human Resource Development from Villanova University this year. Donna Collins, Executive Director for the Ohio Arts Council, had this to say about Susan joining the Central Ohio arts community:

"Susan and I have been colleagues for years and it is an honor to work with her again in her new leadership role at Columbus Children's Theatre. Susan's rich history in the arts and arts education communities in Ohio positions her for success at CCT. The leadership Susan brings will support the goals and vision for the future of CCT as it seeks to serve children, families, and educators."

Notably, Susan was a figure in the Dayton community for years as the Executive Director of The Muse Machine, a nationally recognized arts education organization serving 70,000 students and teachers annually in Southwestern Ohio. Susan started as their Assistant Program Director in 1993, and became their Executive Director in 2002. She served in this position for 4 years with countless major accomplishments, such as acquiring sector specific funding to develop integrated arts programs for K-8, conducting a disciplined planned giving initiative with the Dayton Foundation, and overseeing the brand position of the overall organization.

As Columbus Children's Theatre enters into its 54th year of operation, we are excited and fortunate to have an Executive Director as qualified and compassionate as Susan Pringle. We welcome her to the Columbus arts community and to the Columbus Children's Theatre family.

Our Mission
