Armed with two consecutive #1 singles (“Louder” and “Hot Right Now”), almost two million in sales andtour dates from Ibiza to Australia, DJ FRESH has grown from rising star to record-breaking household name in his native England. Now, one of the hottest artists in British dance music signed to Ministry of Sound Records, is looking to make his way across the Atlantic in 2013 for the release of a new album for Columbia Records. Before that time comes, Columbia is releasing the Louder EP today, Tuesday, October 16.

The EP, which premiered yesterday on Complex.com, serves as an introduction to FRESH’s most stellar works.  There is the massive smash “Louder” which features driving vocals by Kosheen’s Sian Evans andwith over 17,000,000 million video views, became the first dubstep track to hit #1 on U.K. charts.  It also includes “The Power” with Dizzee Rascal—a Radio 1 favorite and British Top 10 single—and "The Edge"ft. Ayah Marar.  These three tracks appear on his U.K. release Nextlevelism (Ministry of Sound). The four-song player rounds out with a Flux Pavillion and Dr P remix of “Louder,” a #1 Hypemachine track.

One of the originators of drum & bass, DJ FRESH (aka Dan Stein) began his career as founding member of the supergroup Bad Company.  In 1998 when FRESH was still 19, the group released “The Nine,” a track that was to later be voted the best drum & bass tune of all time by D&B Arena.   After winning many awards with Bad Company, including KMAG’s ‘Best Album of 2000,’ he teamed up with Adam F in 2003 to found emerging d&b label Breakbeat Kaos. It quickly became a tastemaker, championing Pendulum’s game-changing albumHold Your Colour and playing host to FRESH’s critically acclaimed debut LP, Escape from Planet Monday.
