City Players presents Steven Belber's "Match" from October 21 through December 10, 2011 at the Hayworth Theatre, located at 2511 Wilshire Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90057. The play is directed by Kate Whitney.

Performances take place on Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30pm on October 21, 22, November 11, 12, 18, 19, and December 2, 3, 9, 10. This powerful production began its run at Theatre Asylum and now moves to the Hayworth Theatre by popular demand for more shows and is produced by special arrangement with Dramatists Play Service.

In this 2004 Broadway play, a Seattle couple, Mike and Lisa Davis, have traveled to New York, ostensibly for research on Lisa's dissertation, to interview dancer, choreographer and now Julliard
professor Tobi Powell who lives alone in Inwood on the northern tip of Manhattan. But the couple's growing discomfort and probing personal questions soon signal a different, darker agenda as multi-layered as the life story that Tobi begins to share.

What happens next (and a secret from the past) will either ruin or inspire them, but will definitely change their lives forever. The play's climate creates an impact that is a unique blend of catharsis and enlightenment. "Match" presents Stephen Belber at his best.

Featured in the cast are Martin Head as Tobias Powell, with David Douglas and Marta Portillo as Mike and Lisa Davis, and Svetlana Kisiyan as the Dancer.

Tickets are $20 general admission, $15/person in groups of 2 or more, and $10 for students. Advance reservations may be made via email to cityplayerstix@gmail.com. Tickets are also available at the Hayworth Theatre box office one hour prior to performance.
