Circle in the Square Theatre School will present LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD, a musical for children (Grades K-6), at Broadway's famed Circle in the Square Theatre (50th St., between Broadway and Eighth Avenue), at 10:30 a.m. from Monday, November 26 through Friday, November 30.

This 50-minute musical version of the timeless fable is adapted by Lani Brockman, with music and lyrics by Susan Bardsley, and directed by Isaac Dayley. Little Red Riding Hood on roller skates? A vegetarian Big Bad Wolf? Little Red must overcome the challenge of getting a very large birthday cake past a very hungry Wolf to Grandmother's House!

The cast, all graduates of Circle in the Square Theatre School, includes: Ashley Brooke (Little Red); Samantha Ballard (Grandmother); Nate Jensen (The Hunter); and David Lind (The Wolf).  Following each performance, there will be a Q&A with the cast members.

LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD opens this year's Three Plays for Grades K-6, the popular program that began in 1994. This year's series is dedicated to the memory of Theodore Mann (1924-2012), co-founder of the legendary Theatre and until last winter, artistic director of both Circle in the Square and its acclaimed Theatre School.

LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD will be followed by CINDERELLA, The Oldest Story Ever Told, a perennial favorite written by David F. Eliet. This muticultural version features Cinderella tales from China, India and Africa (February 4-8 and February 11-15). The series concludes with THE LION, THE WITCH AND THE WARDROBE, dramatized by le Clanché du Rand, from the classic by C.S. Lewis (March 18-22).

Circle in the Square Theatre School, established in 1961, is one of the country's premier schools of professional training for actors and singers, and is the only conservatory in a Broadway theatre.  Paul Libin is President, and E. Colin O'Leary is Executive Director.  Among the School's alumni are Philip Seymour Hoffman, Kevin Bacon, Lady Gaga, Idina Menzel, Nicole Ari Parker, Benicio Del Toro, Felicity Huffman, Molly Shannon, Matthew Lillard, Justin Kirk and many other luminaries of the stage and screen

In addition to school and public performances of children's plays, the School also conducts classes on playwriting for third graders (at P.S. 11), with their short plays performed by graduate actors on Circle's Broadway stage.
