Christopher Sieber's MATILDA Debut Delayed Due to Hand Injury

Christopher Sieber, who will be Broadway's newest Miss Trunchbull in Matilda, will have to wait to play the tyrant headmistress on stage. During rehearsals last month, Sieber fractured a bone in his hand. He is now expected to begin performances on Tuesday April 8 if his hand is fully healed. Cast member Ben Thompson will perform the role beginning this Tuesday March 18 when Mr. Sieber had hoped to begin performances in the show.

Sieber's Broadway credits include: Pippin, Shrek (Tony, Drama Desk, Outer Critics, Drama League Noms), Spamalot (New York and West End; Tony nom), La Cage Aux Folles, Chicago, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Into The Woods, Beauty and the Beast, Triumph of Love, A Christmas Carol, NYC Opera Cinderella, Eric Idle's Not The Messiah, a comic oratorio (Toronto Symphony). Off-Broadway: The Kid, Avow, The Boys in the Band. Regional: The Heart of Robin Hood, Hairspray, Company, The Boys From Syracuse. Film/TV: "The Good Wife," "Pushing Daisies," "Elementary," "Morning Glory," "Johnnie and the Sprites," "See You in September," "It's All Relative," "Two of a Kind," "Sex and the City," "Ed," "Guiding Light," "All My Children," "Another World." Mr. Sieber has not appeared on "Law and Order."
