Tony nominees Robin de Jesus (In The Heights, La Cage Aux Folles, Wicked), Christopher Sieber (Matilda, Spamalot) and three-time Drama Desk nominee Julie Halston (You Can't Take it With You), head the cast of a February 19th industry reading of Daddy Issues, a new play by Ted Malawer

Jessi D. Hill directs the reading which also includes Taylor Trensch (Curious Incident), Jenni Barber (Wicked, The Nance), and Aaron Ricciardi.

Daddy Issues is billed as a fast-paced, dark comedy set against a historical re-imagining of the early-to-mid twentieth century. Von Blergh is an aspiring Jewish artist in New Rochelle. Adolf Hitler is an aspiring artist in Germany. As they mature, their lives intertwine in ways neither of them thought possible, leading to the discovery of love, the pursuit of passion, and their own coming-of-age and ultimate destruction.

Ted Malawer's other plays include The Chocolate Legacy, Anatomy of Love, and Framed. He has penned five novels including the Mystic City series, The Diamonds and Crash Test Love and is executive producer of the upcoming feature film Fallen directed by Oscar nominee Scott Hicks.
