Curcio projects has announced Christopher Hart Chambers and Michael Zansky will feature at the Fountain Art Fair in booth B-105 during Armory Week in NYC.

Christopher Hart Chambers' impenetrable ornamental abstractions (invoking both painting & sculpture) float in immeasurable space oblivious to the fact that they are secured to the wall or floor, or suspended. The biomorphic shapes arouse sensuous desires in their undulating shiny surfaces that are intensified with indecipherable glyphs. While simultaneously an aggressive masculinity subtly lies beneath the surface as the materials hint at hot rods, surf boards and interstellar spacecraft.

Michael Zansky's paintings are desolate tragic comedy wastelands of an American culture's demise. The kitsch characters include bobble-headed dolls of super star athletes, figurines of The Three Stooges (Curly being the leading man) with toys and dolls staged from central casting. The fragments of narrative, the pop-surreal settings and the absurdity of it all make one wonder "Who writes this stuff." Zansky says of his paintings - enter oblivion, enjoy the spectacle, and listen hard for the maniacal laughter as the curtain closes.

Fountain Art Fair is located at the 69th Regiment Armory, 68 Lexington Avenue at 25th Street. Artlog presents the Opening Night Reception with celebrity DJ Fab 5 Freddy on Friday, March 9th from 7 to 11pm. General hours are Saturday and Sunday from 1 to 7pm. Admission is $10 at the door or discounted tickets can be purchased online.
