Award-winning actor Chrissy Hogue takes on the insanity of our county's economic malaise in The Stupid Economy, a one-woman show appearing in the United Solo Artists Festival at Theatre Row, 410 West 42nd Street, New York City on October 4, 2013 at 7:30pm.

The lingering stupidity of our economy seems to grow on a daily basis. In 2008, we thought things would be getting better by now, but they are getting worse--much worse. Economists and pundits are at a loss to explain the complex festering heap we call our economy. Thankfully, actor Chrissy Hogue has stepped forward to explain it all, taking audiences on a dizzying ride through the lives of seven women, from the bottom to the top of the economic ladder, weaving a story that will make you laugh, cry and stomp your feet in frustration at our current economic condition. Through personal stories, the show gets to the heart of the matter of what's ailing our country, and touches on everything from the college experience to Chinese production, racism, refinancing, politicians, and magic dogs, in the end providing a launching point for a conversation we all need to have about where we've been and where we're going.

Chrissy Hogue made her stage debut in Queens, New York at the age of six. Since then she has landed starring roles in more than eight first-run theatre productions alone. For her work as "Medea" in Poison/Heart by Robert Lawson (What Goes Up), Chrissy won a Best Supporting Actor Award and a Best Ensemble Award. Chrissy has won several acting awards including Best Actress, First Place Dramatic Prose, First Place Dramatic Duo, Best Ensemble, Best Supporting Actress, and honorable mentions from Happee Smith Productions' Telly and Addy award-winning Sedona Staffing and Fly Dubuque Airport commercials. In addition to acting, Chrissy is a voice-over artist, filmmaker, choreographer, director, and is a founder of HogueMade Productions, and a senior consultant and partner at IMPACT Arts & Business Consulting.
